First Letter From Richard!

Hi Crafty Stampers!

I received my first letter from Richard today!!!  I have been running to the mailbox every day (like a little kid chasing an ice cream truck!) to see if I received a letter from either one of the boys.  It finally came today!  I was so happy to hear from him!  Matthew sent his first letter to my oldest son - I guess they did it that way in case one of the letters got lost in the mail.  I now have their address so I can start writing them and sending them cards!  Anyway I am so glad to know that all is going well for them other then Richard has a bad cold and Matthew is fighting the flu.  My oldest son who went through all of this a few years ago said that is the norm - everyone ends up getting sick.  I can't wait until June to get to see them again!

Baptism Swap

Hi Crafty Stampers!

I entered a Baptism swap and wanted to share the cards that I received with you. Some of the cards are in Spanish but can be easily changed to English.

The stamps used on this card are from the Spanish Catalog (Item # 120427 - Wood Mount only - $20.95)  - It is not in my catalog (sorry!).

Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Elegant Source DSP

Ink:  Baja Breeze and Soft Suede

Stamp Set:  Crosses of Hope

Accessories:  Scallop Trim Corner Punch, Paper Cutter, Sizzix Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Baja Breeze Marker, Crumb Cake Marker and Snail

Isn't this card cute!  I love the Spanish Baby Baptism stamp - The stamps used on this card are from the Spanish Catalog (Item # 120427 - Wood Mount only - $20.95)  - It is not in my catalog (sorry!).  Luz punched the baby out with the 1 1/4" circle punch.  She used the retired Slit Punch (#104388) to make the ruffle look or flower around the Baby which is raised with Stampin' Dimensionals.  

This Baptism Card has the new Glass Glitter (#121883 Baja Breeze) around the scalloped circle punch.  The stamps used on this card are from the Spanish Catalog (Item # 120427 - Wood Mount only - $20.95)  - It is not in my catalog (sorry!).  This card is put togethered like an envelope with a card insert with the Batisimal information on it.  Too cute!

Below is this card opened - I really like this card!  It is so adorable!  I love the new Marina Mist (#119257 - 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon)  ribbon threaded in the button.   

Opened view shows a little better how the teddy bear is put on the card - cute!

Above is the front - - - Below is the inside   ~   I punched the front of the card with the small tag punch (#119876 - actually named the "Large Tag").  I colored the image with markers (stamp set is "Punch Bunch" # 121847 Wood - # 123211 Clear  from the sale-a-bration catalog ~ good until March 31, 2011) stamped it on Whisper White then punched with the Large Tag.  

I like to do the inside of the card!  Sometimes the card doesn't seem to be finished until the inside is decorated too.  I stamped the image from the "Punch Bunch" # 121847 Wood - # 123211 Clear (in the sale-a-bration brochure - Can order until March 31, 2011).

My 2 Sons are off to Boot Camp

Hi Crafty Stampers!

We took my 2 youngest to meet with their Marine Recruiter this morning so they could go to Boot Camp in South Carolina.  They drove to Detroit, Michigan from there they will fly to Georgia then will be bused to Boot Camp.  I have been very much dreading this day.  It was hard to let them go but I did not want them to see me upset so I had to stay strong.  I miss them already!  It is going to be a very hard and long 4 years.  I am so proud of them for wanting to serve our country, but am so afraid for them also.  They are to graduate in June which they will be home for a short time then will be stationed somewhere.  It is nice to know that they are together (for now any how - while they are in Boot Camp).  My oldest son went through it all by himself.  

This is Richard and Matthew standing in front of the Recruiting Office in our area the day they left for Boot Camp.  My youngest is the tallest in the family!  My oldest son is the shortest and gets teased a lot about it!

My 2 Sons Going Away Party

Hi Crafty Stampers!

We had a going away party for my 2 youngest who will be leaving on Sunday for Marine Boot Camp.  I really don't want them to go.  I think that they are excited about going - they are looking forward to getting their "Eagle, Globe and Anchor"!

Here they are showing off their muscles.  They have been working out almost every day for the past several months now getting ready for Boot Camp.  They wanted a before and after picture so that they could compare their muscles.  They kept saying they are going to be huge when they graduate from Boot Camp.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hi Crafty Stampers!

Happy Valentines Day!  I got a new toy for Valentines - a Bind-it-All Machine!  I have been wanting one for awhile now and finally got one!  I thought I would try my hand at a project with it today.  I made this cute tiny notebook.

This tiny notebook measures 2 1/2" x 3"!  The cover has Baja Breeze cardstock on it.  The hearts that are stamped on the Baja Breeze cardstock with Baja Breeze classic ink from the Tiny Tags stamp set.  The Lock and Key and punched from Not Quite Navy and Night of Navy Cardstock.  I sponged around all the pieces with Night of Navy ink.  I punched a tiny tag out of Going Gray sponged it with Basic Black and put into the lock.  The silver string is retired.  I cased the Lock and Key from someone's work that I had seen.  I thought it turned out so cute!
